About Louisa Luisi-Vilardi
Louisa Luisi-Vilardi is a writer and photographer originally from Northern New Jersey. She holds a B.S. in Education & English and a M.A. in English Education. Louisa has authored many plays that have been performed throughout the country. Along with writing, Louisa is very involved in theatre arts and served as the Managing Director for New Players Company and the director of the NPC Playwriting Program for many years.
Your Best Coaches, Louisa's debut children's book, was published in November 2012. Her last book published in November 2013, Together, was based on her sessions with Jean Palombo. 100% of proceeds for Together supported The Palombo Family Scholarship for a number of years. Louisa's writing has been published and featured by various platforms including Her View From Home, The Huffington Post, and Today Parenting Team. Her writing and photography have also been featured on Scary Mommy and Love What Matters.
Louisa is a proud member of The Dramatists Guild of America. She developed a series of Zoom plays during the pandemic including Gallery View. The Covid Confessions, which was featured on NBC News, was produced at The Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck. Louisa continues to write full length plays and is working on a grief journal that will be published in 2025.
Louisa taught English and creative writing at Ridgewood High School in New Jersey for over a decade, but traded in her grade book for diapers and a photography career. She lives in New York with her husband and three sons.
